The Surry Historical Society was founded in 1982 as a vehicle to collect and preserve documents, photographs, oral histories and physical relics that reflect our town’s rich history. We are located at Surry’s Old Town Hall, which was built in 1828 and is listed on the National Register of Historic Places.

We seek to share Surry’s history with you through our website, on Facebook, and at our free public meetings where everyone is welcome. We meet on the third Monday of the months of June, July, August and September at 7:00 pm at the Old Town Hall, 1217 Surry Road (Rt. 172) in Surry, Maine.

We look forward to informing you as we look back at Surry’s colorful past.
